M3 Engineering is a subconsultant to BLA for an MSD project that is helping MSD reduce flooding and backups in the Black Creek watershed in an area north of Clayton Road and west of Big Bend Road in the City of Clayton, Missouri.   Private sources of inflow will be disconnected and directed to a new enclosed storm system that will discharge to a proposed detention basin to reduce peal flows.

Downspouts and area drains that are currently connected to the sanitary sewer system for residences in the Southmoor Subdivision will be disconnected and directed to 2,825 feet of new 12 inch to 30 inch storm sewer.   M3 Engineering will model the existing and proposed systems using XP-SWMM to determine the optimal pipe size.  The model will also include the proposed detention basin, designed to mitigate peak flows before discharging into the adjacent creek.
